1. Show
that the progression 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, …… is an AP. Find its first term and
the common difference.

2. Find
the
nth term of the AP 14, 9, 4, -1, -6, …….

3. Find
the 9
th term of the AP 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 9/4, ……..

4. Find
the sum of first 19 terms of the AP 2, 7, 12, 17, 22, …….

5. How
many terms of the AP 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, ….. must be added to get the sum 948?

 Section B
(3 Mark each)

1. If
the 10
th term of an AP is 52 and 17th term is 20 more than
its 13
th term, find the AP.

2. If
the sixth term of an AP is zero then show that its 33
rd term is
three times its 15
th term.

3. Find
three numbers in AP whose sum is 15 and whose product is 105.

4. In
an AP the first term is -4, the last term is 29 and the sum of all its terms is
150. Find its common difference.

5. If
Sn denotes the sum of first n terms of an AP,
prove that
S12 = 3(S8 S4)

Section C (5 Marks each)

1.Divide
32 into four parts which are the four terms of an AP such that the product of
the first and the fourth terms is to the product of the second and the third
terms is 7:15.

2. If
the
mth term of an AP be 1/n and its nth term be 1/m
then show that its (
mn)th term is 1.

3. A
sum of ₹ 2800 is to be used to award four prizes. If each prize after the first
is ₹ 200 less than the preceding prize, find the value of each of the prizes.

4. A
man saved ₹ 33,000 in 10 months. In each month after the first, he saved ₹ 100
more than he did in the preceding month. How much did he save in the first
month.
